FRIDAYS FUN COMPETITION CATEGORIES.
Ok. Popular demand dictates so we are going to re-introduce "BATTLE OF THE SEXES".
Fun prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Pick a partner of the same sex and strut your stuff to Modern Jive music on the dance floor, open to all.
SATURDAYS COMPETITION CATEGORIES.
Take a Chance - £8 per entry plus Saturday All Day Pass
Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, Medals for all finalists.
Open to all levels of dancer. Freestyle dancing, no-one knows who their partner will be. It could be someone you know or a complete stranger. Perhaps a good dancer or may be not - it's the luck of the draw on the day. One warm-up dance prior to commencement of judging. If you're tapped on the shoulder you must leave the floor, as you are through to the next round.
Pro/Am Intermediate MJ - £20 per Student plus Saturday All Day Passes
1st Trophy + £100 - Trophies for 2nd and 3rd places, Medals for all finalists
Open to Intermediate level dancers only. If you have previously entered the Advanced or Open category, you are not permitted to enter this category. Only the Intermediate level (Am) dancer will be scored, the Pro dancer will not be scored.
If the Amateur (Am) is entered in to ProAm Advanced then they cannot compete in any category lower than Advanced.
If the Pro & Am have previously competed in a competition as a couple then they cannot enter the ProAm, if they have only competed in a ProAm category previously then they can enter.
Intermediate MJ - £30 per couple plus Saturday All Day Passes
1st Trophy + £150 - Trophies for 2nd and 3rd places, Medals for all finalists
Open to amateurs only. Teachers, professionals or previous Intermediate winners of Blackpool UK Open Jive competition are not eligible. This is a freestyle dancing competition. Air steps are not permitted.
With the Intermediate category, we are implementing "influential Teacher"; This is where the winners of the Intermediate Category will nominate the most influential person in their dancing. That nominated person will then be called on to stage to receive a trophy from the Intermediate winner
Pro/Am Advanced MJ - £20 per Student plus Saturday All Day Passes

Open to amateurs only who are 55+ and prepared to prove it. Teachers and professionals are not eligible. This is a freestyle dancing competition. Air steps are not permitted.
OPEN MJ - £50 per couple plus Saturday All Day Passes
1st Trophy + £400 - Trophies for 2nd and 3rd places, Medals for all finalists
Open to all levels of dancer. This is the top level freestyle dancing competition and attracts most of the best MJ dancers in the UK. Air steps are permitted.
Double Trouble - £30 per team plus Saturday All Day Passes
1st Trophy + £150 - Trophies for 2nd and 3rd places, Medals for all finalists
Entries are made up of any three competitors who must perform modern jive related figures, clearly demonstrating lead and follow. Open to all levels of dancer.
Air Steps - £30 per couple plus Saturday All Day Passes
1st Trophy + £150 - Trophies for 2nd and 3rd places, Medals for all finalists
Open to all levels of dancer. Freestyle dancing with as many aerials as you like and have the strength for.
Spotlight - £40 per entry plus Saturday All Day Passes
1st Trophy + £300 - Trophies for 2nd and 3rd places,
A couple or Trio dance a choreographed routine to between 3 and 5 minutes of your own chosen music. All dance styles are permitted but routine must include a minimum of 20% modern jive. Music should be supplied on CD and be on track 1.
Team Cabaret - Free to enter (maximum of 6 teams)
plus all team members must have Saturday All Day Passes
1st Trophy + Medals - 2nd place Medals, 3rd place Medals.
A minimum of 3 couples dancing a choreographed routine to between 3 and 6 minutes of your own chosen music. All dance styles are permitted but routine must include a minimum of 20% modern jive. Music should be supplied on CD and be on track 1. Team numbers must be submitted 45 days prior to the competition.
